This is how the e-communities in Kamchai Mear and Krong Kep Pilots look like in terms of its technical configuration and function.

Kamchai Mear Infrustructure
This looks like a conventional telecentre, connected by satellite, powered by solar and offer internet services. But we have built out a broadband Wide Area network from this to cover a large number of villages – 10 in both pilot sites.
In about 10 of these smaller village hubs have been develop, in premises provided and renovated by villagers themselves. Technically, these offer not just internet and web services, but videoconferencing, and telephony. Indeed, the plan is to extend IP telephony out into villages around sizeable ‘hotspots’ in each hub.
At the moment we have the HQ and three hubs operational in each and the rest will be added before the end of the year.
More detailed description on the ICT infrastructure deployed will be provided soon.
